Aladdin Jr is the tale of a street urchin and his three pals who are seriously misunderstood! Aladdin, orphaned and alone to raise himself on the streets of Agrabah, has a good heart but very shallow pockets. He is forced to steal food to survive along with his pals Babkak, Omar and Kassim. Together, the foursome gets into all sorts of dilemmas, until one day when a beautiful young princess, disguised to escape the demands of palace life, wanders into the marketplace and their lives change forever! Jasmine is determined to make decisions for herself about whom she is to marry and Aladdin has fallen hopelessly in love but knows the princess will never fall for such a commoner as him. ENTER the Genie, a fast-talking, wise-cracking ball of fire who is determined to shake things up! Oh, and don't forget Jafar...cacan't have a show without the evil one lurking in the shadows causing all kinds of ruckus!
Under the direction of Musical Director, Kris Waldron, and Choreographer, Cheryl Myers, the singing and dancing was brilliantly brought to life by these youngest of thespians! Once again, I am blessed to have such a dedicated crew around me to bring my visions to life.
Once again the magic of digital imaging brought the show to life. The still and animated images filled the stage with vibrant color. The costuming, courtesy of The Lady and The Leopard augmented by the designs of Mrs. Ripa for the leads filled the stage with life and vibrancy!
